4 Ways to Help Your Kid Brush His/Her Teeth Regularly

Making kids brush their teeth in the morning is a big challenge. Getting them to do it twice seems almost impossible. However, it’s important to teach your kids the importance of brushing regularly so that they will not face any dental problems in the future.

If you come off well in developing good dental habits in them, it’ll help them to have better oral health throughout their lives. We’re here with 4 helpful ways to make brushing a healthy habit in your child’s life.

Let Them Choose Their Toothbrush

Kids are usually fond of making their own choices, rather than being assigned to something. When you go shopping, let them choose their favorite toothbrush, toothpaste (from a pre-selected brand), and floss. It will encourage them to use those products. Give them control over choosing their dental supplies.

Be Their Role Model

As you know, children watch your every move and just imitate you. If they catch you brushing twice a day, that’ll make them follow suit. Instead of telling them, it’s better to show them through your actions.

While you’re brushing, make them stand near you and watch how you brush your teeth properly. Meanwhile, you can also explain the benefits of brushing your teeth regularly.

Brushing Along With Their Stuffed Toys

If your child has a favorite teddy, then encourage him/her to brush together. Ask them to teach the teddy how to brush properly and let them practice it on the teddy. Making them practice it on a doll with teeth can help you understand whether they’re doing it right or not. It will make them think of it as a game and will have better results.

Encourage Them With Small Rewards

Sometimes you need to cheer your kids to make them do something. Getting them small gifts in return for what they do will make the process a lot easier.

You can give them little incentives in return for brushing their teeth twice a day. Make a deal to give them a color pen or a sticker. For example, if they brush once, give them one sticker and if they do it twice then give them two.
